What Is The Deep Dream Premium Mattress Made From?

This mattress is made of 5 layers plus the cover. Going through them starting at the top:

  • Convoluted foam (eggshell) that conforms to your body's curves. This helps with better airflow.
  • A layer of gel memory foam with pressure-relieving properties. This layer is designed to keep the sleeping surface cool at night.
  • Another egg shell layer of foam which works in the same way as the first one.
  • The next layer is a soft layer of high resilience foam. This provides support, adds durability, and is a firmer layer between the springs and the top comfort layers.
  • The base is pocket springs that are in a 5-zoned system that promises tailored support.

Encasing the layers above is an organic cotton cover. It can breathe, and it's skin-friendly with the OEKO TEX 100 label. This means it's great for allergy sufferers or those who have sensitive skin.

What we like:

The Deep Dream Premium construction gives a height profile of 34cm. And the foams and materials comply with CertiPUR-US and OEKO-TEX, so they don't contain any harmful chemicals.

What we don't like:

It's not the best build quality in terms of materials. Eggshell foam layers aren't the best. They allow more airflow, but they are essentially a foam layer cut in half in an eggshell pattern. Half the foam you'd typically get is a sign of low-quality foam because it hasn't been developed to keep you cool. Hence it's cut in half so it won't retain as much heat.

Next, is that there is no edge support, which is usually the case with spring mattresses. And the cover isn't removable, so it will make it a pain to clean if you spill anything. But for the price, it's not too bad, and you can't expect high-end features.

How Does It Feel When You Sleep On It?

The sleeping surface is soft, with a nice design. But let's move on to the feel. It's a soft mattress. Actually, it's one of the softest mattresses out there. On a rough scale, it's around a 4.5-5 out of 10, with the usual mattress sites around 6.5. This means that it's better for petite individuals and not recommended for heavy or front sleepers.

Overall, though, it's comfortable for side and back sleepers, with support for spinal alignment, and the benefit of a softer mattress is that you sink quickly when switching positions, making it feel cloud-like. In the event that you share a bed with a partner, the pocket springs are designed to minimise motion transfer, and they do a decent job of it.

Dimensions And Related Factors

Some things to consider when buying a mattress are its dimensions because you want to make sure it fits your bed frame.

In addition, if you frequently change the decor in the room or plan to do any other kind of repair or construction, the weight of the mattress could make a significant difference. In a similar vein, if you plan on moving, a lightweight mattress is a good choice.

Here are the different sizes of the Deep Dream Premium mattress:

  • King Single: 203cm L x 107cm W x 34cm H
  • Double: 188cm L x 137cm W x 34cm H
  • Queen: 203cm L x 153cm W x 34cm H
  • King: 203cm L x 183cm W x 34cm H

How much does it weigh?

  • Mattress height: 34 cm
  • Mattress weight: 42 kgs (Queen size)
  • Weight capacity: 300kgs (Queen size)

Final Verdict

So is it worth getting? I will do my best to answer this question. It's great if you want a cheap spring mattress, and it comes with a 20-year warranty from a popular store. However, it's not the best mattress, with only just over 200 reviews, and some show the wrong model mattress (the Deep Dream Green Tea). And on ProductReview.com.au, it has a 3.5 rating with only 32 reviews.

But for the price, it's worth concerning. Before diving in, I would just make a few comparisons because there is no trial period, so there are no second chances.
